ABOUT ME

Hi!
My name is Joosje. I grew up in Brussels, but my parents live in a small village called Huizingen. Right now I live in Ghent, where I study. I'd love to see a bit more of the world, I've never been outside of Europe. Which I don't really mind, because there is just so much to see in Europe! I'm a very social person and I would love to host someone or show some people my city. My studies are a 24/24 occupation, they're very hard and demanding but I love doing them. This also means I can be quite busy from time to time!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My niece and I couchsurfed in Sardinia last summer, which was really fun.
I couchsurfed my way through southern Sweden in april 2014.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I'm a huge cinephile, so way too many to name. Favourite director is John Cassavetes, also love Spike Jonze. I can talk film all night and always happy to do so!

Music: Love the new Arcade Fire album, Bon Iver, Laura Marling, Radiohead, The Strokes, Sufjan Stevens, The Whitest Boy Alive, Phoenix and so on...

Books:
Favourite poet/writer is Charles Bukowksi. Loved "Freedom" by Jonathan Franzen. Also "Everything is Illuminated" and "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Saffran Foer. Now reading "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmmm.. Climbing down the Gorge du Verdon in France was pretty breath taking. Hitch hiking along the east coast of Sardinia was amazing. It had the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Berlin is a fantastic city. Riding horses through the hills of the Sierra Nevada in Spain was so much fun.
