About Me

I am a Dutch field hockey player who is currently studying Business in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Besides my passion for business I love to watch Youtube to find random, but very interesting, information on space, technology and American politics. This does not mean I am caving myself in my room, I enjoy social events a lot, my evenings are generally booked. As a student I did not have a lot of opportunities to explore the world outside Europe, however I am really planning on it. A study trip to Vietnam made a big impact on me, I hope the USA will do the same.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This summer my roommate and I will road trip through the USA for 5 weeks, we will make a road trip from Indianapolis to San Fransisco and back. Of course while visiting some great national parks on our way! Next to camping as often as possible, we know it will not be feasible to find a campground in cities, therefore we decided to look at couchsurfing. My cousin used it a couple years ago when he did a road trip, his stories made me very enthusiastic about the website, all the different amazing people he has met. All of the above made me realise couchsurfing is a great addition to our trip!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my trip in Vietnam I was not very sure if it would be very safe to drive a scooter (which is actually a motorbike in Vietnam). When we left Saigon (Ho-Chi-Mihn City) to the beach I decided to take a small leap and rent a scooter. Driving along the Vietnamese coast with sun in my shorts and flipflops was the most amazing experience I've had so far, this does not include the two almost-accidents we had.
