About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To brew where no man has brewed before

ABOUT ME

Well, I'm half Norwegian, half Swede, but I feel like 100 % of both.

I enjoy skewed viewpoints. Ones that enter the world at an angle rather than head on, so that they are refracted at the boundary between the imagination and the real world; and sometimes reveal hidden truths. I also enjoy trying to deconstruct our world. Not that I have any special or unique insights, it's just that I enjoy trying to figure things out.

Crafting well-tasting sustenance from as basic a level as possible is something that I enjoy immensely. I've tried my hand at cheese making, that was really fun! Though much of my culinary drive has been funnelled into brewing these last few years. I keep thinking that I should do something about that. Man cannot live on beer alone...

I often feel very much not at home in a world where success is measured in money, where surface is worshipped and substance is ignored as irrelevant.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just recently heard of this, and immediately fell in love with the idea. I haven't hosted or surfed yet, but am looking forward to start hosting as soon as I arrive home in March.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. Well, apart from meeting some good friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like movies from (almost) every genre, as long as they have something to impart to me, some wisdom or mood or emotion or insight or groove. Not that I can't enjoy a good action movie.

I just got a DVD double feature with Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile. They had aged remarkably well :)

Top 5 movies of all time (according to me) (in no particular order)

Ghost Dog
High Fidelity
Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness
The Ring (Yes, I like the US version better than the Japanese)
The Godfather trilogy (sorry, I know that is cheating)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the glacier of Kilimanjaro from above, before it disappears forever...

Teach, Learn, Share

It should be obvious from my profile ;)
