Overview
About Me
Hi,
My name is Joran and I study a degree as executive chef. other than cooking I've got a big interest in alcoholic beverages. my main interest lays with whisky, but I also got a big interest in other distilled spirits, beer, wine and mixology. I'm SDEN level 1 certified regarding wine, and I studied beer for a semester as part of my education. I love traveling and exploring new cultures. Another hobby of mine is photography, but I mainly do this as a small hobby so it's nothing too serious. I like to say that I've got more interests than a regular person, and listing all my hobbies would take a rather long time, but because of this I often get along with most people because we often still share interests. In general I'm very energetic and enthusiastic. I like to be spontaneous and do whatever the first thing is I think off.
I often say we only got 80 years on this world, might as well enjoy every day to it's fullest!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to meet new people and learn about their city and their cultures. Only a local knows what places are truly worth going to, so what better way of traveling than meeting up with a local!

Music, Movies, and Books
My style in music is extremely broad. I can enjoy swing, blues and jazz from the 1920s, all the way up to rock hits from the 70s, disco from the 80s or even present day pop. I've got more than 20 playlists on spotify and more than 4000 songs downloaded. whatever my mood is, I've got a song ready.
my style in movies and books is quite broad as well, but I think I mainly enjoy fantasy books and movies. Whether it's a classic such as Harry Potter or LOTR, or lesser known books/movies doesn't matter. I'm a big fan of Rick Riordan and his books, but I think we can all agree that the Percy Jackson movies were absolute garbage.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This dude once had some sort of trolley filled with 16 crates of beer and it was rolling towards the street. I ran outside and stopped it right before it fell down. I don't wanna call myself a hero, but not many people can say they saved 384 bottles of beer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well if the host has any interest towards one of my hobbies, I can talk and educate for hours on food, whisky and a ton of other subjects!
Other than that, I can cook dinner, or we can go grab a beer on my costs!
