About Me

Hello!

Looking to come and experience the ancient and natural beauty of Japan! I've recently come from England, and am based in Australia while I save money, but I hope to see be off to Japan!

I love art, design, science fiction, temples, cathedrals, dogs, cats, animals, nature, movies, books and music!

I'm really keen to meet people who can give me a real, legitimate insight into one of the most seemingly beautiful places in the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I've been told its a great way to get to know a place well, because you can get to know locals when they host you!

I'd absolutely LOVE to meet somebody new through Couchsurfing, and through them learn about what its really like to live in Japan! Perhaps we could go for a walk around the local areas and see what's good!

I'm most keen, of all places, to visit Kyoto, and Id love to spend as much time there as possible, visiting the temples and the old neighbourhoods - Couchsurfing might be a great way to create contacts!

I'd just love to get to know people who are from the area, and can give me real insight into Japan :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Blink-182, Neck Deep, Bloodhound Gang, Knuckle Puck, Techno, Electro-Swing, Rap

Books: Anything science fiction. I read a lot of Warhammer 40,000 novels, and also a lot of personal development books too.

Movies: Any movie that tried to tell the truth about how something really happened/ or might happen; Saving Private Ryan, Prometheus, Hurt Locker, Jar Head etc.. also comedies too!; Family Guy, Friends, Step-Brothers etc..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmm...lets have a think...

when I was about 5, i got my first bicycle, and before leaving for my first ride, my father advised me: "Jordan, remeber to not turn the handle bars, it is best to lean the bike if you want to turn". However, what I actually heard was "don't turn."

I found myself descending down a large open field, with one single, large tree in the centre. Needless to say, I was on a collision course. The tree, had recently been polished and preserved by local art students, so the roots were very ramp-like.

I sped up to the tree, rode up the roots, made it halfway up the tree (still on my bike)....then gravity caught up to me, and brought me back down to the ground very painfully, followed by the bike (which landed on top of me).

Good fun, eh?

Teach, Learn, Share

I've studied art and design throughout my education, and so I could share any skills I have in these areas with you no problem! It'd be my pleasure!

I'd love to learn about Japanese culture, and what it's really like to be a Japanese civilian. I'd love to learn about the temples and the traditional neighbourhoods, so any personal tours would be greatly appreciated!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well...I accidentally answered that above, so here I'll say my work experience, and how that might help:

- Cleaning experience (used to clean medieval-era bedrooms in 4-star hotels!)
- Can prepare a variety of hot drinks e.g. Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha, Espresso etc.. using professional equipment.
- Have professional Graphic design experience!
- Have experience working at a reception.
- Have bush craft experience
- Am an adaptable extra pair of hands; my family doesn't have lots of money, so often i would have to step in to assist builders, carpenters, landscapers etc.. and so have experience with physical labour.
- I can help you practice your English, in anyway that helps you the most! Be it through conversation, writing, or assisting with studying!
- I can provide you with as much information as I am able about the UK, if you were planning a holiday trip there, and would like to know good places to get good deals!
