About Me

Hey there,
So I'm Jordan, or better known as Nemo. Always young at heart and adventurous, I'm a very spontaneous person, always seeing the glass half full and taking the most of open doors or opportunities that life pushes my way.

I'm a jack of all trades but yet a master of none. I've worked a few careers from chefing, personal training, concreting, carpenters labour and prawn fishing. Ive completed my certificate 4 in fitness at the southbank institute of technology, done 2 semesters of psychology (the subject I shall one day complete) and 1 semester of audio engineering.

Currently I have just moved to my new home of heidelberg in Germany, so for now my latest task is to learn the deutsch language and develop that skill up so as to maybe study here in Germany (where it doesn't cost me a debt of tens of thousands of dollars like Australia already has.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally found out about couch surfing after hearing about it a couple of times from hitchhikers I had picked up around Australia, and thought I would check this world out for myself. I am on couch surfing as its the best way possible to experience cultures. Not only is it an amazing way of putting together people who are all like minded and generous, but also allows people from all over the world to experience other cultures head on by living with each other.

Interests

I have a range of hobbies and interests, which you can see on my interest tags, but one of my main interests is socialising and meeting new people, learning new things and having long deep discussions over a range of topics over drinks.

  • cooking
  • beer
  • politics
  • reading
  • music
  • backpacking
  • camping
  • anthropology
  • astronomy
  • philosophy
  • psychology
  • metaphysics
  • hiphop
  • anthroposophy

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes are quite diverse and eclectic, my main love is definitely hip hop (both as a culture and in music) for its ability to portray a message. My other favourites include rock and metal genres and old classics like pink Floyd, black sabbath, acdc, credence clearwater, Bob Marley etc etc

With reading, I like reading on a range of topics, anything that can get my brain thinking basically, especially if it keeps your mind speculative, but I'm not a fan of fiction at all. I spend more time reading articles and journal pieces on current science and technological advances, along with political and geopolitical articles and news stories. A few of my favourite authors include Graham Hancock, Terence Mckenna, Aldous Huxley, Jamie Maslan, Carl Jung and more.

With movies, I don't really have a favourite genre, many movies can get me interested and distracted enough for a couple of hours to kill time, although I don't watch any TV series besides of South Park, family guy and Rick And Morty. I spend more time watching documentaries online or vice or Ted episodes/talks than watching movies or shows.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once walked barefoot up to Adam's peak in Sri Lanka, a 2 day total trek up into the heavens to witness the most amazing sunrise in my life

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that everyone in this floating rock can teach, learn and share something with and from everyone else here, even the smartest or wisest man knows he knows nothing

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer hosts a great personality and smile for the entirety of my stay. I can offer someone to have a few drinks with and stay up chatting each others ears off on an entire range of topics for as long as necessary. I'm also a chef by trade and can offer some amazing cooked meals, along with learning teaching and sharing our cooking knowledge with each other.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cambodia, Colombia, Fiji, Germany, Kuwait, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States, Vanuatu, Viet Nam
