Overview
About Me
Much like other West Coast Canadians, I have an insatiable itch for mountains, outdoor sports, travel, craft beer, and getting to know about other cultures.
I'm an adult educator by day, but my remaining time is spent doing hobbyist activities like guitar, juggling, hiking, reading science and sci-fi.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My two friends and I are travelling across 11 countries over the course of 6 months, and meeting people is one of the greatest joys we look forward to!
Accomodating 3 people is a bit of a challenge for hosts, so I'm not expecting much in the way of that. However, if you feel like chatting with some exciting and funny Canadians, we'd love to see the city through the lens of you!
Interests
I've had a whirlwind of resolutions this year, and one of them was to read a book a month. From non-fiction (Man's Search for Meaning) to Sci-Fi (The Martian), and everything in between (How the Periodic Table Came to Be).
In between reading, travelling, and hiking, I am also picking up new skills like crocheting, auto-maintenance, woodworking, and new languages.
I'm like a sponge - I just can't stop learning!

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm tech savvy, musically literate, and an able cook (traditional student food). I study and work as an educator, so even if I don't know the subject well, I can gather enough about it to figure how it works, why it does, and what we can do to improve it.
I am an open vessel when it comes to being taught. More likely than not, I'll ask something about you and see if I can learn a little about either a hobby you're interested in, or some common colloquialisms of your area.
At the very least, I can share stories, happiness, attention, and a solid meal with drinks. I am by no means a leech, and I know when to leave others alone, and when to amplify a good mood.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My able body, whether it's chores around the house, bringing groceries in, or helping prepare the tables for a meal.
In other cases, I can share some Canadian history, culture, humour, and ways to improve their learning (if they're as eager of a student as I am!)
