I am a Political Economy major at UC Berkeley, in California. I grew up in Washington State in a small town, but have lived in both New York and Los Angeles. I love seeing new places, and learning about the history, art and culture of those places. I really, really love films (especially scary movies or science fiction), and there's not really anything better than a good book. I enjoy cooking and trying new foods, especially those that are completely unfamiliar to me.

I think that when travelling the best times are had when you actually meet people and don't just hop from tourist place to tourist place. I've been lucky enough to get to see my own country from the eyes of locals during a road trip across the US where me and a friend slept in our car the whole way, went swing dancing with cowboys, had a jam session with musicians during a thunderstorm in Chicago, BBQ'ed with a family on independence day, and rode around Utah in a pickup truck with a group of friends we'd just met. I hope to experience a little bit of the same authenticity in all my travels, and have fun doing it.

I like EDM, but have really eclectic taste in music and have songs that I like from virtually every genre. My favorite movies are scary movies and sci fi (Serenity, Alien, The Babadook, Shutter etc). I don't like slashers or films with a ridiculous amount of sequels.

I moved to Los Angeles by myself when I was 18, which might not sound impressive but considering I'd never lived in a city with more than 3,000 people I think it was a little crazy.

I enjoy talking about life views, music, travel, experiences... basically anything. But during this election year I don't really want to talk about American Politics. The system is broken, I know, I want it not to be how it is too. When I was in Australia I got grilled about politics every time someone found out I'm from the US.
