About Me

Hi! I'm a university graduate who recently decided to quit his 9-to-5 job in favor of traveling the world. I'm always willing to try anything once and I love meeting new people and seeing new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've traveled many times since I was a kid, and I've found that the best way to learn about a new place is through the eyes of a local. Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to do so, and I look forward to seeing a new side of the world.

Interests

My favorite activities are reading, hiking, and cooking. I have two cats at home that I miss, but I love all animals. I'm interested in books, movies, music, and the occasional political debate, and my favorite sports team is the Oakland Athletics baseball team.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, from rock to hip hop to jazz to blues to country to reggae to classical. I'm always eager to find my new favorite band or artist, and would be happy to share some from my own collection.

I read frequently while I travel, and I'm currently halfway through Les Miserables. My favorite book is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

My favorite movie is a tie between Pulp Fiction and The Big Lebowski. I've seen both of them too many times to count.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was fifteen, my best friend and I won third place in the Piedmont Birdcalling Contest and we were guests on the Late Show with David Letterman. Unfortunately, I can no longer do the call of the black-necked stilt, but I do have a very embarrassing video of the show.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking for my friends and family, and I'm always willing to lend a helping hand in cleaning and any other household chores. Also, when I was at university I worked in tech support, so I have lots of experience with fixing computers that I would be eager to share.
