About Me

Hello! My name is Jordan Larson, and I am from Detroit Michigan. However, I attended university in British Columbia, Canada, and to celebrate graduating this April I am currently spending a month traveling and visiting friends in Europe! While I have friends in most cities I'm visiting, I would love make surfing friends to explore both Copenhagen (August 14th) and Stockholm. (August 15th 16th and 17th!).

I am an avid traveler, and one of my favorite things about traveling, especially solo, is how many amazing and interesting people you meet and the friends you make. I've done a certain amount of traveling with hostels, but I'm totally new to couch surfing. I have met many amazing surfers over the last year, and I'm so excited to get involved in this community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet amazing interposed and inspiring people that I would never meet otherwise, to travel in a way the facilitates unique and spontaneous experiences at every turn.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: anything other than American pop country or screamo. From folk to hip hop and classic rock, I love almost all music. Current favorites include: The Oh Hellos, CYNE, Sylvan Esso, Josh Garrels, The Funkhunters.

Movies and books: so many favorites from all different genres and periods, I can't even begin to make lists. But for both the biggest factor for me is how thought provoking their stories are.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have co-taught a sustainable community development economics field course in Belize twice over the last four years, which has opened my eyes to the depth and complexity of modernization, westernization and the relationship between cultural preservation, integration and appropriation. These courses have helped me learn there is almost never a 'correct' answer, and that the best thing we can do is listen to, respect, and learn from one another. #celebratediversity
