About Me
I've lived in Alaska most of my life both in the bush, in town and at sea. It's an amazing place and I love to share it. Some of the most interesting people I've met have been hitchhiking up the highway in the middle of nowhere, Alaska. I've been working on boats for a career since high school and seen most of Alaska and the West Coast from the water. I backpacked around Europe and Australia when young and appreciate others who are doing that now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I still travel a lot and this sounds like a great way to meet local people share the many facets of life. There have been many people who took time and trouble to share their home with me along the way and I appreciate that. I also have a sailboat which often requires crew on short notice. Transient, adventures and adaptable people are sometimes a great fit for helping sail.
Interests
Sailing, fishing, exploring, learning, building cabins, making beads, canning and drying food, studying history, cooking.....
Music, Movies, and Books
Garth Brooks scares me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 18 I bought a little 28 foot sailboat and headed north from Seattle to Kodiak. I had no idea what was in store that trip and I still reflect on the things I learned. Amazed I lived through it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My cabin is 102 miles from Anchorage on the Glenn Highway. I Also have a roving sailboat that could be anywhere in the Pacific NW. Sometimes there's a bunk open at the dock or for part of a voyage.
