About Me
Hey there!
My name is Jordan and let me tell you a little about myself. :) I am a Marine Biology student at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA with a scientific diving minor. I love to fill my free time with SCUBA diving, tide pooling, cooking, planting, playing soccer and just being outdoors! I love seeing the animals I learn about in my major so I spend a lot of time at the beach or in the water but since I'm originally from Colorado, I have to give some of that time to the mountains. I love going on walks or biking the trails through our local redwood forest and when I find time to go on backpacking trips!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have a real hunger to travel and see the world from a local perspective. I have always found interest in different cultures. It's fascinating to me and really fun to learn the same word in different languages, or trying a new exotic meal, or sharing experiences and stories with locals.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can always listen to some classic rock, The Eagles, Billy Joel, ect. But I have a very wide variety of taste and am usually happy listening to anything from reggae to hip hop. I'm a little bit of a book nerd when I can find the time, a good mystery can have my nose in a book for hours.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went diving in Catalina to 100 ft and saw a Giant Black Sea Bass. It was the most incredible thing I have ever seen. He was (from my eye estimation) around 6 ft long and 250 lbs! He was a gentle giant, slowly circling us about 5 ft away just checking us out... it was CRAZY. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I love local advice. I want to go to your favorite restaurant or your favorite nature spot, not the place every other tourist will be. And I want to share my secret local places with you!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to share a delicious home cooked meal (I have a couple yummy recipes up my sleeve) over some stimulating conversation of course!
