About Me
Hello!
My brother, Ian (25, handsome, single) and I finally got tired of the Seattle rain and decided to come down to Australia with year work and holiday visa! We arrived into Brisbane mid January and finally got a hold of a car (which we named Hansel) and we are planning on spending the next few months trying to see as much of the country as we can before we run out of money and have to start working!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Our extremely tentative and vague plan is to head south from Brisbane, down the coast, hit every nature/cool thing along the way and see the major cities as well, Sydney Melbourne Adelaide, and possibly hop down to Tasmania, and then make the red trek across to Perth, and eventually back around through Broome Darwin and Cairns.
But as said earlier, all of our plans are completely up in the air, we have nothing booked and we are easy going and want to enjoy the ride while meeting awesome people along the way. Hence this question, we are on couch surfing to make as many new friends and connections as possible.
Interests
We both grew up playing soccer, and try to play as often as we can. We both are buying surf boards and since we snowboard back at home, we are hoping it translates over easily!
I am a huge bird watcher and both my brother and I love to hike and spend lots of time outside! It looks like we came to the right country!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent this past summer up in Alaska (Aleknagik and Lake Illiamna) studying Sockeye salmon. It's so hard to describe how beautiful untouched Alaska is, and every day waking up there at the remote field camps, I was pumped to be alive and part of the research going on, and pumped to categorize mode of death for each salmon and physically chuck thousands of dead salmon carcasses to one side of the streams. I was living the dream..
