About Me
People usually first notice my Irish sense of humour and my bright red hair! This is shortly followed by my desire for learning and meeting new people. I love getting to know what makes people tick through my travels. I recently left my job in London in the media industry to figure out what the next step in my journey is! I'm using my time to explore cultures, countries and people, with the aim to expand my mind creatively and also as a human being.
I love food most of all - cooking and eating! Film and photography follow soon after, and I have a great interest in all things psychological and philosophical. Like the Irish stereotype, I can talk 'til the cows come home - although I have learned when to keep my mouth shut too!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to learn from others and their homes, and make a true experience through the travels I take. I believe that travelling is all about the people one meets and the experiences you create and embrace. Air BnB and hostels are great but I always feel they lack real character and the essence of what travelling is about - meeting people along your journey and creating more from every moment of it.
My Dad has couch surfed all over and has nothing but amazing stories to tell from his travels. I want to have those stories too, and friends all over the world who I can share my tales and tips with, in return for theirs.
Interests
I find talking to people about what makes them passionate fuels my zest for life. I find psychology and film most engaging and spend most of my time watching and reviewing visual art or live performance. I also spend a lot of time cooking and exploring new cuisine. I want to take photographs and build up my portfolio on the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite film right now is Bergman's 'Through a Glass Darkly' as it ties in with my studies of mental health in film and it truly gripped me. Truly fantastic piece of cinema. I also loved the more recent 'The Lobster' and 'Youth'.
I love Orwell's '1984' as it was basically a prediction for the future and is scarily becoming reality. A fabulous novel/crystal ball reading!
I love jazz, motown, classical...most things apart from heavy metal/rock really. I couldn't tell you what's in the charts right now bit I'm open to being educated!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Upped sticks and quit my job to start a psychology masters, realised it wasn't for me after 6 weeks and jacked it in without a plan or penny to my name! Bloody scary but an amazing feeling to know what you do and don't want!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a, perhaps renewed, enthusiasm for the city you live in. I am always trying to find the weird and wacky parts of a place, and things I can do with people. For example, I kayaked in New York's Hudson River, I went on a walking disco tour in Edinburgh fringe, stayed in a deconsecrated church in La Spezia, and always find the best 'under-the-skin' places to eat. And you could join me!
