Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Jordan, from a small town near the ocean in northern California. Hablo Inglés y Español. I worked in the mountains and deserts of Colorado for several years, leading groups of teenagers on 8-day wilderness trips. Now I'm traveling, learning, teaching, sharing.
Some things that I like are sleeping under the stars, drinking tea, and baking bread. I have both introverted and extroverted sides. I can spend an entire day reading a book when I really enjoy it.
My dream is to one day build my own tiny house and grow much of my own food. I always look for work that allows me to create, and ways to help humans connect with the world around them. I do my best to practice Non-violence in my speech and actions.
Please let me know if you have any questions - it's difficult for me to decide what to write here :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a Couchsurfer because I love meeting people and learning about their lives. I believe any two people can connect, given the right circumstances! I also see sharing a home with a stranger as a beautiful alternative form of collaboration, outside of the framework of capitalism ;) It makes the world feel smaller and friendlier!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've Couchsurfed several times in Vietnam, Spain, and Mexico. I tend to sleep on a lot of friends' couches.
Interests
I spend much of my time at coffeeshops, listening to music, cooking, baking bread, eating, practicing yoga, gardening, and daydreaming. I also like rock climbing and avocados and most things outdoors.
I think a lot about the intersections between place and personal experience, and the different ways that people tell stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: folk, classical, blues, salsa, rock+roll, dream pop, EDM, hip hop, r+b. Instruments: flute, guitar, drums, voice
Authors + Poets: Rainer Maria Rilke, Michael Ondaatje, Cormac McCarthy, Haruki Murakami, Hermann Hesse, T.S. Eliot, E.E. Cummings, Alan Watts
Three things I watched recently: Lost in Translation, Minimalism (a documentary), and Chef's Table (a cooking show, yum)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I skinned and butchered a deer while working at a farm one summer. It gave me a much greater respect for life and the labor that goes into the food we eat.
I can make fire with sticks, stones, and friction. It's called "bow-drilling."
My friends, my family, and the people I meet amaze me most every day.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: how to peel an orange in one piece, English, Spanish, how to shuffle a deck of cards, biodynamic gardening techniques, how to cook mushrooms so anyone will like them.
Learn: how to create things, how to nap, anything you want to teach. Once, a group of girls in Myanmar taught me how to play jacks with a handful of pebbles. Another time, I learned how to take the cap off a beer bottle with a quarter.
Share: food, stories, a philosophical talk, bread, a good laugh.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will help you garden, grocery shop and cook with you, walk your dog or your cat, and share anything that relates to creativity and connection with the world around us. I’m a certified Yoga teacher and am happy to offer you a free class :) I also know a fair number or card games, and one magic trick.
