ABOUT ME

I am a kind, open, and caring individual, great for conversation and stories. I am definitely a people person. I have been told that people tend to gravitate towards me because of my warm and bubbly personality. Quirky, silly, and very friendly.

I dislike buttered popcorn jellybeans and narrow-mindedness. I love learning about the world around me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I became active on CS when I decided to go to New York City on a Monday and left by that next Saturday. It was a wonderful and very fulfilling adventure. I look forward to many more.

I am currently in a very small apartment in Pilsen so that limits how much I can host.

I love to travel so my thought is that I will be hosted by some pretty amazing people, and then eventually I will pay it back by settling down somewhere bigger and hosting travelers myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was very excited to have my first couchsurfing experience by being hosted in New York City, December 2012. It was an exciting and fun time. My host was very friendly and welcoming.

Thanks to her, I was able to explore a lot of New York City on foot.

I went swing dancing at a legitimate swing dance club, Swing 46, saw the Statue of Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry, and so much more.

I am looking forward to many more experiences, and meeting many more interesting people.

Interessen

I love movies, books, talking with new people, sailing, swing dance, theatre, photography, carpentry, writing, dressing up in hand-made costumes, such as the Mad Hatter, Meg, from the Disney animated film Hercules, and Rocket Raccoon, (all past Halloween costumes), and I really enjoy crafts.

Now that I am a college graduate, I divide my time between working as a teacher/tutor, volunteering with children, reading and writing fantasy/science fiction stories, watching movies(old, musicals, comedies, action, anything!)and playing board/card games.

One of my favorite games is Danish, a wonderful card game that I can teach you.

Other notables include One Night:Ultimate Werewolf, Betrayal, Red Dragon Inn, Chess, Cards Against Humanity, Quelf, Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan, Munchkin,and so many more.

I am a life-long dancer(ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop), and within the last two years I have picked up lindy and swing dancing, my new passion. Anywhere that I can swing dance is good with me.

I'm trying to experience as much of life as possible.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I have so many favorites.

Some of my favorite movies are V for Vendetta, Lars and the Real Girl, Beauty and the Beast, How to Train your Dragon, Zombieland, and the Korean monster/family drama film The Host(not Stephanie Meyer's book/movie, guys...) .

Some of my favorite books are Neverwhere, the DiscWorld series, Oryx and Crake, Coraline, and The Hobbit. I am one of those people who typically re-reads the Harry Potter series at least once a year.

Some of my favorite music: Florence + the Machine, Foster the People, Jungle, etc.

Some of my favorite shows are Westworld, Brooklyn 99, Once Upon a Time, Sherlock, Dr. Who, Firefly, Avatar:The Last Airbender, Louie, White Collar, Psych, Futurama, and Gotham.

I also love Face Off, not for the reality TV aspect, but for the movie make-up and costumes they create. I am a technical theatre nerd at heart.

I have so many amazing stories. If you share one with me, then I will definitely share one with you.

Some things that I have done are:

-Sail in St. Thomas and Chicago
-Surf in Hawaii with my sister.
-Snorkel with sea turtles in St. Thomas
-Sneak backstage during a symphony orchestra with friends after a swing dance event at the University of Chicago.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I'm up for conversation/discussion/debate, teaching swing dance, teaching people the basics of how to swim, Danish(my favorite card game), and much more.
