About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Livin' the dream

ABOUT ME

Native of New Orleans and lover of nature, I'm mostly an introvert, with pops of spontaneity. I train and perform in the circus arts, so I'm a big fan of staying active. I'm also a fairy, gogo dancer, and dog mom. Its a sweet life. Not much into partying, nor do I drink often, but I'm not against it. I just prefer a laid back atmosphere and social gatherings that consists of art, music, outside, and food.

PHILOSOPHY

Fill what's empty.
Empty what's full.
Scratch where it itches.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Even though my profile was created a while back, I've couch-surfed only recently. So this is all fairly new to me. I'm super excited to explore new places in this style of travel!

Interests

Most anything outside. I live in a city that's mostly warm year-round, with festivals pretty much every weekend. If I'm not training or playing in a park, I'm in a studio. Hula hooping, aerials, contortion, and partner acrobatics are what I love so very much. I'm a big supporter in the local music scene, and hanging out in small venues. New Orleans is a great place to catch amazing bands and dance, no matter what style your into or the time of day. I'm a big kid at heart, always. And love playing dress-up and costumes. I attend Con's and cosplay, and get to be all sorts of characters for my job(s). And food, FOOD. I love it. I'm a very conscience eater, and follow a mostly plant-based diet. One of my favorite ways to get a feel for a new city is through the food, and coffee shops. I could spend hours in cafe's, and certainly do. Reading is also a way I enjoy passing time. I love a good story, whether it be from a book or a person.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music will always depend on the mood. I'm into a little bit of everything, as cliche as that sounds. But it's the truth. I listen to a lot of reggae and rock-reggae. Rebelution, Collie Buddz, Marley brothers, Iration, Pacific Dub, OPM, The Green, Snoop Lion. Aside from those types, I also enjoy some american hardcore like Hed PE, and Powerman 5000. Tech N9ne and Humble Gods. And in no particular order- Cocorosie, Phaeleh, Massive Attack, The Black Keys, Trevor Hall, Jhene Aiko, The XX, Daft Punk, Backfill, Emery, Florence and The Machine, CF CF, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Beats Antique, Deftones, Lenka, Kate Nash, Lily Allen, Portugal The Man, Above and Beyond, Circa Survive.

Movies- I've worked in the film industry on and off for a few years, and honestly its made it hard for me to sit through anything these days. I love documentaries, and cartoons. One of my favorite movies of all time is Labyrinth. I can be a sucker for a good action movie and romantic comedy as well. Pixar and Studio Ghibli.
Most recently obsessing over Big Hero 6.

Books- Osho is one of my favorite go-to feel-good authors. His books are easy, wonderful reads. The Power of Now, and A New Earth. The Hitchhiking Guide Through The Galaxy series, The Language of Flowers, The Alchemist, Water for Elephants, Clockwork Orange, Tao Te Ching, Skin, When God was a Rabbit, almost anything by Chuck Palahniuk. Tuesdays with Morrie, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Vagabonding, Fix, The Time Travelers Wife, My Booky Wooky- Russel Brand's biography. Lonely Planet

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding to follow my dreams of being a performing artist, and traveling. Dropped all the nonsense. Livin' and Lovin'.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught children's yoga as well as community yoga classes, flexibility, and hand balancing. I'm a licensed skincare specialist and makeup artist, and willing to share any and all advice. I am forever a student in this world, and I will always be willing to learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experience and knowledge of nutrition and physical fun. I live in a great, welcoming city, and would love to give travel tips from a local's perspective, and also open my home if it's in good-timing.
