About Me

I'm an Aussie sport and travel enthusiast. I grew up in a small country town in South Australia and then moved to Adelaide to study Engineering. Since then I have lived in both Canada and Spain, and have traveled to over 80 countries. I'll watch any sport and enjoy any type of wine or beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2013 I moved to Spain for work and my employer provided me with a large 4 bedroom apartment. A few weeks later I joined Couch Surfing and my house quickly started to feel like a hostel! Overly the next 18 months I hosted over 100 people from all parts of the world. I very rarely had enough sleep and I often drank too many beers, however I absolutely loved it!!!

My wife and I got married in March and we are now cycling around Europe for our honeymoon. We are keen to meet as many local people as possible on our travels, so hopefully you are able to host us.

Interests

Sport and Recreation is definitely a dominant interest of mine. Nothing beats being outdoors and active. I am yet to find a sport that I don't like to watch or play (curling included). Australian Rules Football, Golf, Wakeboarding and Snowboarding all rank highly. Keeping fit and healthy is also a priority of mine. My passion for running culminated in 2014 when I ran the Paris Marathon.

My social life is also very important to me. While I am a beer and red wine enthusiast, I really don't enjoy drinking alone. I am looking forward to making as many new friends as possible while I am on my travels.

When I moved to Spain I quickly grew to hate the fact that I was monolingual. Consequently studying Spanish became an interest of mine, and while I have passed my B1 exam, I still have a lot of work to do!!!
