About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live a life that I can be proud of when I'm old and frail.

ABOUT ME

I'm independent, fully capable of keeping myself occupied; though that isn't to say that I'm antisocial. I'm a low key person and I love low key environments.

PHILOSOPHY

You do you, and I'll do me. You have the freedom to pursue your dreams and aspirations so long as it does not infringe upon my dreams and aspirations or those of another. And any negativity should be used constructively, rather than for lowering another to raise yourself. And that stagnation, physical or mental, is fatal to the human spirit. And I could really continue forever.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm in the process of looking for my first CS experience in New York, and I would love to utilize CS while I'm in Europe over the summer!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything and everything by Haruki Murakami, Mahfouz, Bolano, Nesbø, Martin, Tolkien, Rowling, Larsson. So much of my time is consumed by reading. I literally love books more than some people. I probably shouldn't say that...

Midnight in Paris, Lord of the Rings, Mean Girls, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Up, Toy Story, La Vie En Rose, The Square, Godfather, Hurt Locker.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving back from Chicago in January, I got caught in the polar vortex with some friends. And that meant getting off a highway exit to find a massive snow drift preventing us from getting to the gas station, then huddling together in said gas station after abandoning the car. Then getting kicked out of said gas station. Amazing? In a scary, almost exhilarating way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel like I have little to teach. I'm a student myself. Though I'm learning a number of languages. And I enjoy baking. Cooking, a little. But as a student, I love learning. Especially outside the classroom. Languages, cultures, experiences, ideas, life hacks, recipes, how to train a dog, where to find the perfect pizza/pie/pastry. Anything, really.
