I've been trying to rename myself (way harder than it looks, in my opinion) and you'll see various attempts at that while reading my references. I currently go by Jordan, but the majority of my couch surfing experience was as Mickey.

I'm from Minnesota, but gave up on Minnesota winters and relocated to Austin, Texas in October 2015. I love the winters in Austin, but not sure I can handle the heat of the summers, so the plan right now is to spend the summers in Portland, Oregon.

The other place I'd most like to live for a bit is San Francisco.

PHILOSOPHY

I live in the present moment to the maximum extent of my abilities. This is a delightful living experience for me. I aim for no anxiety, regrets, or expectations. No attachment to outcomes.

I meet people where they are at, rather than were I might wish they would be.

I love to make new connections and have new experiences. I love adventure. I enjoy being vulnerable and transparent.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host whenever I am available to. I surf whenever I find someone I'm excited to meet and stay with. Sometimes I just meet people who are in town (usually one of us temporarily) for hiking or a vegan meal.

I love connecting with people and sharing stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was as a surfer to Austin, Texas over Easter weekend in 2013. It was very enjoyable. I have since then embraced more sharing my living space with friends and also being transient and sleeping on the couches of friends.

My first solo couch surfing experience through this website was surfing in Chicago at the end of September 2014. It was delightful. I enjoyed quite a lot of wonderful couch surfing experiences over the winter of 2014/2015.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music. I rarely watch movies anymore and especially try to avoid violence in media. If I read a book, it is mostly likely to be a popular young adult fiction book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I create non-traditional relationships with ease and grace. Loving, intimate, vulnerable, authentic relationships that are not necessarily moving towards a destination like sex or marriage. Just deep, rewarding personal connection.
