About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be myself more than I explain myself

ABOUT ME

Where to start? Right now I work as a cashier, trying to figure out the life plan, or the near-future plan. I have a degree in English, which just means I like to read. I'm currently trying to teach myself more about writing as a craft and learn from the awesome writers I discover.

Mostly these days I write poetry. I've been reading my poems out loud, once a week for almost three years now. It's fun and scary. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of poet I am and what kind I want to be.

I like swapping stories. I'm a rambler when I talk, it's part anxiousness, part the thrill of having an audience. I'm striving to be a better listener. I'm in a weird transition phase where I feel like a boring person who spends too much of their time on the Internet either looking for entertainment or to be seen in some capacity.

I'm passionate/thrilled by: good writing, dancable songs, indian food, cookie butter, avacados, homemade meals, comfy blankets.

I'm good at staying at one place, but am seriously considering being interested in this adventure thing people keep taking pictures of.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't know that I have one. Right now I've realized something I'm still struggling to word.

We all live in our own realities and a lot of the time we have to get comfortable that our role in someone else's reality doesn't match us/our reality at all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm open to hosting and surfing. I live with a couple, a greyhound, and a cat. I'd just have to double check with my roommates if you're interested in crashing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was awesome! I went to Spokane and spent my first night with a great couple who were so generous with their time and stories and friends.

Interests

Performance poetry. Watching TV as escapism, scrolling Facebook and Tumblr as escapism. Reading awesome essays online. Finding new authors to fall in love with. Making different meals using the same basic ingredients I always have. Having good conversations and trying to remember them afterwards. Layering my clothing.
