About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am working in downtown Vancouver and trying to save money until I can afford to travel Europe for a few months starting in April. For now, I want to satisfy my travel bug by hosting other travellers coming to my city!

ABOUT ME

I currently work in a hotel, and I worked on a local boat cruise company here last summer, so I am quite knowledgeable about the tourism culture in Vancouver.

I love sushi, movies, bike rides, cooking and good books. My home is located in downtown Vancouver and is very accessible to other areas as well as the airport (35 min front door to terminal via skytrain). I live with a good friend of mine from back home (Penticton, just 400km east of Vancouver) and we host friends in our apartment almost every other weekend.

I lived in Madrid, Spain for a year and travelled through the Mediterranean and southern Europe extensively. I speak a little Spanish, although I haven't used it hardly at all since moving back from Spain in 2012, so if you are a Spanish speaker and want to exchange some English/Spanish speaking so we can both learn I would love to get together!

PHILOSOPHY

Young and openminded. Always searching for new experiences and challenges.
Love a good story.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed a couch for one of my trips to Amsterdam a few years back and had a great experience. My host cooked me traditional pancakes, told me the best museums, parks, and restaurants to check out, and make my visit truly unique. Ever since then I have wanted to host travellers in my home but never had the appropriate space/time. Now I live in a prime location for travellers, and although my apartment is small and cozy, we have had many friends and family stay with us for weekends and found it to be a great space for sharing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all types of music, except country. I usually listen to downtempo or chillstep electronic, indie mixes. Lots of great concerts here in Vancouver and I love discovering new artists!

I love comedies, nature and other documentaries, and crime dramas.

I read a wide variety of books, from science and business to comedy and travel stories. I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction. Would be happy to swap books if you need to refresh your collection during your travels!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I finished the Vancouver Marathon in May of 2011 in just over 4 hours. The last 45 minutes were excruciating, but finishing the race was one of the best feelings I have ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - I love to cook and bake.. As long as there is someone else to help me eat it!
Learn - Would love to continue improving my Spanish.
Share - Travelling stories over a beverage or two.
