About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Creative Listening/ EXPLORE/ Contribute!

ABOUT ME

I love the unity dancing can create, whether we're at a massive event in LA or a disco in Frankfurt.. Yo, I think staking out a north forty, and building a place out of the sweat and blood of my own hands sounds like fun. Sometimes its a struggle, but I want to balance my post-modernist culture with a slower, more introspective experience. Who knows, its all pretty fun in the end, and that's #2 (having fun), after the Golden Rule, of course..

PHILOSOPHY

~~~~~~Sky-diving~~~~~~~
+++Service and sacrifice..
Inspiring compassion in others.
"Help ever, hurt never" Sathya Sai Baba
Confronting pain is the key to a peaceful mind-heart; Gangaji got my attention with the lesson of a life-death duality, and how the ability to confront 'death' in every moment offers awe, a renewed beingness moment to moment..
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Call me a newbie or whatever to the community but I've been surfin' and hostin' by word of mouth for a while now. In fact, I think I've procrastinated participating in the electronic community out of a sense of pride in the spontaneity of meeting friends in person upon arrival in new places. I've had my eyes opened to the potential of having this online macro-network at members' disposal,, woop woop ~~~
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In fall of '10, I ran across an avatar of CS hosting, Joe W, in Key West, FL while on a 6-week road trip through the Mason-Dixie and beyond with my good friend Alan. We made the Keys our arbitrary destination goal with its island allure and isolation at the Southernmost tip of the states. We started travelling in Colo, then made our way through Texas, New Orleans-Halloween!!, Tallahassee, and South Beach. It after a couple of nights of car/beach camping we met Joe, a local manager at some property mngmt/hotel biz. Joey ended up offering us a living room floor and a fancy blow up mattress to share for nearly two weeks. It was great, Alan worked during the day on his website business, Joey worked as a concierge/manager down the street, while I embraced the domestic duties of the household--that is, when I wasn't exploring the 9mi island on Joe's bike, snorkeling on some corny tourist adventure (it was free), paddle-boarding (i made fun of it at first, but the experience made a true believer of me), or sipping down some liquid bread Guinness at the Irish pub down the street watching an English Premier game. God, we had a blast...best of all, we created a temporary family and memories for lifetime
Interests
I love an excuse to celebrate.
Any sport or outdoor activity (talkin' birdspotting, ultimate, beach volleybal, futbol, golf, fishin'..)
Me and friends have been known to seek out mid-century moderns in palm springs, form a band, forage mycelial colonies, discuss the kinsey scale, blast some Andrew Lloyd Webber, and simply share in the saccharinity of golden silence.
