Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

I hope to travel to amazing places and meet amazing people!

ABOUT ME

Traveling to new places and meeting new people is a priceless experience that continually changes my perspective and helps me to better understand this crazy world we all live in.

PHILOSOPHY

oh wow, I could type forever on this. philosophy is so interesting to me. but let me just say that I find it very disheartening that people think about philosophy very little or not at all. I live my live to gain a better understanding of life. There are so many illusions, lies, falsities, distractions, and superficial things in this world. I hope to be able to look past those and see the true reality of our existence.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As long as the circumstances are right, I am willing to host people! So send me a request and we can work something out!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed and hosted a few times. Compared to most, I guess you could say I am still new to this whole thing. But in the brief experiences I have had, I have really been impressed with this system. The people are great! I have hosted a couple of surfers and recommended my friends to use this site!
Unfortunately, I don't live in a city that gets a lot of surfers. So I haven't had that opportunity to host much.

Intereses

making new friends, going out, traveling, experiencing new things, karaoke, movies, music, karate, playing the piano, dinning, dancing, working out (P90X), Herbalife, nutrition, video games, reading, Japanese calligraphy, obento, many many things!

Música, películas y libros

My favorite move is The Matrix. I really love the deep philosophical concepts in that movie as well as the martial arts and action! Probably next in line is either The Dark Knight, or V for Vendetta. I also really like the Kill Bill volumes. Family Guy is my favorite TV show. I also like cheesy comedy movies like the Mel Brookes films. Of those, I like Dracula: Dead and Loving It the best.

At the top of my charts is Michael Jackson. I'm a big fan of his. Aside from the King of Pop, I like some Pop, electronica, jazz, classical, and 80s music. Hip-hop is sometimes fun to dance to in a club/disco.

My favorite book is 1984. I am currently reading Stephen King's epic Dark Tower series!

Algo increíble que he hecho

I did a year long student exchange in Tokyo three years ago. It was the most amazing thing I have ever done! Not only did I make a lot of great Japanese friends, I also met a lot of fellow exchange student from around the world (places like China, Korea, Russia, Australia, UK, France, Uzbekistan, Austria, and more!) I can't wait to meet up with them again!
During a break from school, one of my friends from the States (Tyler) came to Japan to sightsee with me. We traveled super-cheaply all around the main island of Japan. It was really a fun experience.
The sightseeing in Japan was very nice, but I also really valued my experience being integrated into their culture. I went out to drinking parties with university students, had a old japanese lady cook meals for me and the rest of the guys in my dorm, and interacted with native people on a daily basis. There really is a lot that you can miss out on in a culture if you don't take the time to interact with the natives and see things from their perspective. Hanging out with fellow travelers is fun too though. I could type forever about my experiences in Japan, but you should just ask about them!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I learned how to bake from my mother. She is an amazing cook! I picked up snowboarding in Hokkaido pretty quickly. I also know quite a bit about traveling around Japan. I am always learning about other cultures and often reflect on my own. I am not sure what I have to teach, but I am constantly learning from fellow CSers.
