About Me

Living in Lake Tahoe (Incline Village, NV), loving life there, but also dreaming of the next big trip.

Married to the coolest girl you’ll ever meet. I have everything I need. Just need more time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Let's be honest: when I started couchsurfing, I was young and broke. Free = for me.

But I kept couchsurfing because traveling is hard, and having a local friend, even for a few days, means so much. Couchsurfing isn't the biggest part of my life (it comes and goes depending on my ability to surf and/or host), but I've been doing it for 10+ years now, and the amount of positive CS memories I have is amazing.

Interests

Most days, I try to stay active doing one of these things: rock climbing, hiking, snowboarding, cycling, or walking around for hours and staring a Brutalist architecture. Architecture is cool!

Also: art, photography, writing, technology, entrepreneurship.

And also: concerts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like a lot of stuff (jam, funk, indie, classic rock, jazz, hip hop, electronic, etc.) If you can't dance to it, is it really music? I don't think anyone uses last.fm anymore, but I still do. http://www.last.fm/user/Clemenjo/

Books: I'M TRYING TO READ MORE BOOKS AND YOU SHOULD, TOO. I usually remember to add to this list when I've read a book, but it's all over the place. Mostly fiction, sometimes old, sometimes new: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/2519113-jordy-clements

Movies: I accidentally downloaded "Lost in Translation" in German, and felt bad when I gave up watching after a few minutes. I think it would have been an authentic existential experience. Oh well.

And Art. Why isn't there an Art section? Wassily Kandinsky. Egon Schiele. Adolph Gottlieb. Rembrandt. Umberto Boccioni. Alberto Giacometti. I like to think I'm nearing the 1% when it comes to museum patronage...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've held a conversation 80 feet underwater in an airspace inside a sunken ship...witnessed an attempted murder riding in the back of a pickup truck in Guatemala...took a nap beneath the only palm tree on a white sand island in San Blas...rolled in the Tulip fields in the Netherlands...never stopped trying...

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll take anyone rock climbing. Will get you good and scared.

I can also share with you why corporate America sucks, and it still might be the best thing for you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Germs.
