About Me
Living in Sydney Australia since recently!
I'm Jorge I was born in Buenos Aires but I moved to the south of Chile with my family when I was a kid, to a city called Punta Arenas in Patagonia so I'm kind of a mix made from both countries hehe. When I finished highschool I move back to Buenos Aires to study and since then I have been living here and visiting my family in Chile when I got the chance.
I try to travel whenever I got the chance I have visited most of Chile, Argentina and Brazil and I have been also in Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay.
I know that many people that visit Buenos Aires also use it as a start to then go down to Patagonia, if you have any questions about that area just tell because my family lives there and I was actually raised in Patagonia.
I speak Spanish, English and Portuguese but I’m also learning a little of French so feel free to give me any advice with that. Also learning Russian would be great!
I'm a medical student at Universidad de Buenos Aires and Tornu Hospital. I play rugby in my free time (when I have the time actually hehe) but I love to practice almost any sport. I also practice deep scuba diving when I’m traveling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To contact fun people and share my culture and good vibes ;)
I have been traveling a lot I know how dificult it can get being in a country without knowing very well the language so I thought to gave a hand to the ones that are like me but visiting Argentina.
Also I like to answer questions that many people have about my country because sometiems is hard to get good information without someone selling it to you hehe
Interests
Rugby, Philosophy, learning about the world by the diferent traditions people have in their own countries. I think that mainstream media always give such a poor view of the world and I think there is nothing better like getting to know it but for it's people.
Music, Movies, and Books
I can hear almost anything it just depend on my mood or what I'm doing, if you had some music from your country you want to share please do it.
I can watch the most independent documentary from some lost country far away to the most dumb movie hahah
I like to read about history and philosphy. I try to avoid med books in my free time haha
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled without knowing someone to another country without speaking the language. We all have done that I think haha
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak fluently Spanish, English and Portoguese so I can help you learning Spanish if you are interested.
I can cook so I can show you some dishes from Argentina and Chile.
I got a lot of information and recomendations about Patagonia because I used to live there.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have an apartment with a living room where is the guest bed that I use as a couch when nobody is here, my bedroom, the bathroom and the kitchen, it's not a huge place but for myself seems to be fine hehe. I live near "Parque Centenario" so it's a nice calm neighborhood but also is near of everything in the city with good access to any public transportation.
I don't have that much time to take you party but I can show you around a little if you need to.
You can feel free to cook or storage your food while you stay here and if you want to taste some local food I would gladly help you.
I live in the 6th floor in an apartment building so it's safe during the night, is a quiet neighborhood so you can move at night without trouble if you need to.
