About Me

I was born in Costa Rica. I lived in its capital city of San José until I was 14, then I moved to another town, a little closer to the Caribbean called Guápiles, where I began with music, and where I became music teacher.

I play the bass, sing, play the guitar, some percussion and write my own songs. That and Fine Arts, which I studied as well, are my passion. I love sharing my art with everyone else everytime I can.

I moved to Montevideo, Uruguay, in 2014. I came on a trip and I loved the country, its people and its culture, so I decide to stay here. Then I found a job related to what I do and with time made a lot of friends here, which makes me feel like I'm home, even though I'm hundreds of miles away of where I grew up.

I want to continue traveling, discovering as much as I can of this beautiful and diverse world. I love lo meet new people and share my good energy with them. Friends are the most valuable thing you can make in life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of music, the if I make a list it won't fit this frame, haha.
But just to mention some artists, I can name Irakere, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Buena Vista Social Club, Bob Marley, Cultura Profética, Iron Maiden, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Ruben Rada, Jaime Roos, José Capmany, José González, Rush, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Maceo Parker, James Brown, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Walter Ferguson, and the list can go on. Lots of genres and nationalities.

My favorite books are: "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, "A Pedagogia do Oprimido" by Paulo Freire, "Rayuela" by Julio Cortázar, "Cien Años de Soledad" by Gabriel García Márquez, "Las Venas Abiertas de América Latina" by Eduardo Galeano, and "Mamita Yunai" by Carlos Luis Fallas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I believe that staying in a foreign country without planning it is one of the most risky but non-regrettable things I've done.
And well, every time I write a song is like a birth of a new child. I take music so seriously, and I'm completely passionate about it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach music, arts and some traditional cuisine from my country Costa Rica.
I want to learn as many languages as I can, and other disciplines like sports, drama, dance, crafts and lots of thing.
I will share my smile, the good vibes and life experience, to see and make other see the world through other eyes.
