About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting back on our feet (literally) to continue travelling around the World!
ABOUT ME
I'm an open-minded, social person that loves travelling and meeting people. I always travel with Irati, my girlfriend (in the photo with me), so we're basically a (lovely) pack of two.
We've lived in the Basque Country (where we're originally from), Colombia (Bogotá), the US (Florida), and now we're back in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country) for a few months. We've travelled a lot, both together and individually... we share many passions, but that is definitely The one. Soon we'll be starting a 6-month trip around Africa, India and, hopefully, Burma (Myanmar).
PHILOSOPHY
I don't believe in personal philosophies that are written in stone --as you change and experience new things, your take on life will probably change. What I do believe is that this change almost always goes in the same direction: open-mindness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We'd been talking about starting on the CS world for a while, but it hasn't been just the two of us until this month (Jan 2014) --before that, our flatmates weren't particularly open to the experience.
We would like to begin our adventure in CS little by little, hosting and surfing only every now and then, and as we feel more comfortable with it, who knows!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've surfed only once, in NYC, and couldn't be happier with the experience :) As for hosting, we haven't had the chance yet!

Music, Movies, and Books
LITERATURE
Anything by Cortázar.
Anything by Borges.
Then, of course, way too many things to be listed here, but I'm a big fan of poetry in Spanish (García Montero, Neruda, Benedetti, Lorca...), and enjoy good prose writers (Nabokov, Kundera, Scott Fitzgerald, Murakami...).
MUSIC
Let's oversimplify and say that, if it was made in the 70s, I like it. The bands I've grown up loving are, above all, Queen, Led Zeppelin and Whitesnake, but I really like music from pretty much any style: from salsa to drum n bass, from classical to hip hop, and both in English and in Spanish.
FILMS
I know less about cinema that I'd like to, but I particularly enjoy an original idea or a VERY good script. In this sense, I'm generally attracted to films like Fight Club, Memento, The Game, Being John Malkovich, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Inevitably, the most amazing things I've seen or experienced have happened while I was travelling. One big highlight took place during our backpacking trip to Galapagos in Dec 2013 / Jan 2014: I will never forget the first time I was able to swim with giant sea turtles. The beauty of it is indescribable.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can't say I know much about anything... but I do know just a little bit of a fair few things. In the past couple of years, I've been especially motivated by salsa dancing, so Irati and I may be able to teach you some moves (only for beginners)! Also, we love cooking (and eating), so we'll always be happy to share what we know and get some new recipes in return!
