About Me

I'm a 25 year old born in Mexico and raised in the San Fernando Valley in LA. I studied business administration at UC Berkeley. and am currently running my family's small furniture moving business and developing a youth empowerment nonprofit I co-founded in Mexico.

I'm an avid supporter of the Bernie Sanders campaign. I was in Mexico for the last 2 months so haven't been able to get involved volunteering but I hope to do so once the California primary comes around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a nonprofit director I have a very limited budget to get around yet I have to travel pretty frequently from LA (where I live with my family) to Berkeley (where my nonprofit program was founded) and to Mexico (where the nonprofit is located).

I'll be traveling to Berkeley for about a week from April 18th to April 23rd and am looking for a place(s) to stay for a couple days :)

Interests

In my free time I enjoy watching movies, shows on netflix, spending time with my girlfriend and family, working out, and redditing :p

Music, Movies, and Books

I am into a wide range of music and have gone through stages of music moods. My current mood is replaying Alessia Cara's Here and Mike Posner's I took a pill in Ibiza.

But on my computer playlist you'll find mostly spanish rock, Mexican ballads, 80's American music, rap, and hip hop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summers of 2010 and 2011 I participated in a bike tour, the Tour de Dreams, from Berkeley to Los Angeles in support/promotion of the federal DREAM Act and to fundraise for my education while at Berkeley. The trip took 9 days each year and in 2010 I got hit by a car while coming down a mountain pass in Santa Cruz. I recuperated after 2-3 days of rest and finished the last leg of the tour that year.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not sure what this section is for, but, I love meeting new people and learning from new experiences. I'm also known to be somewhat of an activist so I love raising awareness about causes close to my heart.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook some pretty good breakfasts :)
