About Me

I live in a small town just outside of Launceston in the beautiful island of Tasmania, Australia. I enjoy all aspects of outdoor adventure and am a passionate lover of life and all its trinkets. I love to create, weather it is through avenues like my photography/art or my cabin. Creation and self expressive outlets are something I value. I have just completed my first season as a tour guide on the amazing East Coast of Tasmania, and now that winter in Australia is here, it's time to experience the world as a young adult for the first time! I am traveling around Europe, and wish to meet people that live in the places I visit with common interests and open minds, and couchsurfing seems like such a great way to do it. I have already had such great experiences doing meet ups with fellow couchsurfers inlaces like Athens, and I can't wait to continue to engage with people through this platform. I hope to one day open my own home up to the couchsurfing community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to experience the world in a manner that is unique. I don't want to just visit as a tourist, I want to experience the life and culture of each place I find myself in, in the short amount of time that I have. Being out in the world opens you up to a lot of personal growth, and to meet and stay with like minded people that know the part of the world you're in, I think is a great opportunity. I don't know if it would be possible to truly experience and understand a place in a short space of time without something like couchsurfing. It creates the potential to experience all things in a way that sometimes just can't be achieved alone when in a strange land. Making new connections excites me, especially worldly ones. This seems like the best place to foster them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have a favourite book just yet, as I don't feel like I have read enough books in recent times. However, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, and The Art Of Happiness by Howard C. Cutler have been enjoyable reads of recent.

I don't know if I have a favourite movie, perhaps something like Interstellar or Inception.

Music is a very important factor of my life, so much so that I feel it limiting to try and make a list of my favourite music. I enjoy a lot of classic folk, such as Fleetwood Mac, Simon & Garfunkel and Cat Stevens just to name a few. I also enjoy modern folk and experimental/psychedelic rock such as Angus & Julia Stone, Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizzard, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and many more. Last but definitely not least electronic music. Ranging from Techno/Progressive Techno/Tech-House/Deep House, PsyTrance, Drum & Bass and experimental eletro, electronic music is definitely my go to. I truly enjoy all music in one form or another, and cherish being able to share music with others have people share their music with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built a cabin, guided along the Bay of Fires coastline in Tasmania, and visited Ozora festival!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Through my career as a tour guide, I have learnt many things about the Australian wilderness and it's amazing flora and fauna, which I always love to share. I have also learnt some lovely meals and recipes along the way, which i'm sure you would enjoy. I can share many insightful thoughts, as I'm sure you can too! I am eager to learn about the many places I hope to visit, historically, culturally and otherwise, through the guidance of a local. I pride myself on my ability to convey ideas, perceptions and experiences, which I think is a great asset to good conversation. Be prepared for exciting stories! I have a sound knowledge of computer programmes such as photoshop, and I can help you brush up on your Spanish too!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share lovely food, lovely conversation, great company, many an amazing fact about my homeland, all my Spanish speaking knowledge, all of my artistic skills both computer based and otherwise, and my able body. I make a productive team member when things need to be done. It might be a big claim, but I believe, with my flexibility I could just about offer all that a host could ask for. :)
