Jose Medina, (1989)

I was born in the Canary Islands, Spain, a magical place close to Africa in southern Europe. Since I was 20 years old I started traveling through different countries and places trying to learn from the people I met along the way, discovering other ways of living, knowing the diversity of cultures and peoples.

When I travel, I always try to meet local people, let myself be carried away by the rhythm and pulse of new places, feeling a new way of relating, gastronomy, climate, and traditions of each city or small town. I feel this is the best way to know the reality that sometimes hides under the modern war called "tourism".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I discovered Couch surfing in Copenhague, I quickly understood that this is not a platform to find a place to sleep, it is a powerful door to a new way of interacting while traveling, a window to other places, towards the kindness of the people who open their homes, an opportunity to discover the streets and mountains through the eyes of the local people. A space for the common interest that is paid with the exchange of experiences.

Interests

I am in love with cinema, photography, and all forms of artistic expression that in some way connect our society with a new look that invites ourselves to reflect about change.
