About Me

Improv theatre teacher and performer based in Phoenix and traveling throughout North America and, as of Fall 2015, Europe. Also, freelance writer and event producer. A little bit of the dabbling in the social media, too! LGBTQIA+ friendly. Non-smoker but enjoy heading outside to talk to people who do. Non-drinker but for dietary/health reasons; I'll tell you fun stories about when I used to drink!

My amazing wife, Nina, and I have been married since 2009 and every day together is pretty fun, especially with two ridiculous cats! While we occasionally perform together in improv festivals across the country, I'm usually traveling solo or with one of my other improv groups.

Most of my traveling is for improv but I love meeting and connecting with new people whether they're involved in improv or not. I think there’s a thread of humanity that connects us all; I’ve felt it. I’m really lucky to get to travel here and there. This life is definitely a dream come true!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet fun people, experience people's culture in their neighborhoods instead of in hotels, and to have adventures and experiences that I wouldn't have without hanging out with locals!

Since joining CS, I've learned so much about how wonderful the CS community is and met so many great and interesting folks from hosts, friendly interactions with people who couldn't host but were kind andhelpful, and in some meetups abroad. I can't wait to meet more CS folks and can't wait to connect with people once I'm back home in Phoenix!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Co-founded a nonprofit, volunteer-run improv theatre in Phoenix, Arizona with friends.

Met my wife kind of via Twitter; she wasn't my wife then, though. It turns out that she had been college roommates with a friend who I had performing with for years. We did a crazy roadtrip across the United States only 6 weeks after we officially started dating and it's been an incredible journey ever since.

Teach, Learn, Share

Our current place is a little too small to try to accommodate guests but I'm always down to help CouchSurfers passing through Phoenix find a place to crash or check out fun stuff around town!

I mostly travel around North America but in Fall/Winter 2015, I visited Washington DC, Baltimore, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Dublin, Rome, Raykjavik, all in one crazy long trip! I can’t wait to travel internationally again!

Wherever I am and wherever I’m visiting I’m pretty excited to meet new people and have new experiences. I can't wait to see what I learn next!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm an accomplished pet-sitter and a pretty good dude-nanny (references upon request). I can help with any kind of writing in English. I'm not a great cook but I enjoy learning and making fun breakfasts and tasty sandwiches.

I really enjoy good conversation and sharing stories when the time is right but I'm also totally comfortable with just enjoying silence, throwing on headphones, or going for a walk. When visiting other cities, I try to get around on foot or bike just because I can enjoy the sights a bit more than when I'm in a car.

If you want to learn a little bit about improv, storytelling, or public speaking, I'm your guy.

I’m usually awake before the sun rises, so I can be your human alarm clock if need be!
