CURRENT MISSION

Currently I wish to expand my knowledge and my love. I'm looking for opportunities to meet likeminded people, beautiful souls so that I may learn from them and with them.

ABOUT ME

My name is José Martínez, born in 95, I'm in my early twenties but feel free to do the math. If you speak spanish you can call me Josean if you like. If you speak english you can gladly call me Joseph, Joe, or anything of the sort.

I've lived my entire life in the island of Puerto Rico. Although not everyone here is exactly what you would call friendly, I'm lucky to know and hang around allot of beautiful people, and together we enjoy the beauties of our island. There's much to see here still, even for me.

I'm an artist at heart, mind, and soul. Anything art will hypnotize me. I love all of it and I love artists. To me life isn't worth living if we're not constantly surrounded by something artistic. I like to draw, paint a bit, and am always willing to learn a new skill.

Music is definitely the most influential art in my life. Music means the world to me. I love it with my entire being. I love jamming with other musicians or even just listening to great music with people who can really appreciate it. I play drums and hand percussion, and a bit of bass. I can sing a bit, not the best at it but I enjoy it. I love jamming out in campfires and watching people dance to the music, it's a lovely feeling.

As a human being I can be quite unbalanced and spontaneous, but generally I do have a series of traits that define me.

I'm a creative, wild spirited person. I enjoy deep conversations and engage in very little small talk. I'm a minimalist for the most part. I don't need fancy possessions or extreme commodities. I'm completely open about my sexuality and have no direct preference, I simply like who I like. This of course means that I'm more than loving of any and all sexualities and genders, always. I'm not a fan of crowds and general society but when it comes to connecting with individuals I love meeting new people and feeling our frequencies align when we share our passions, dreams, and ideas. I'm a pantheist but I accept and like to learn from any religions, as long as the person is also open minded and willing to learn from mine as well. I'm a bit sarcastic and I joke allot sometimes, but at the same time I can carry a very serious demeanor. Even so, I absolutely love to make people laugh and help them feel joy. I'm absolutely terrified of insects but it's not something I can't handle unless there's a seriously close encounter.

In general I'm more active as a person during the night, but I love the day as well. It depends on what I'm doing I suppose. I love the beach and hiking and lakes and all that sort of thing. I love camping and picnics, or any other outdoor activity that might expose me to allot of nature. I love to go out for drinks and play pool and just hang out, listen to good music, and get in touch with that bohemian side of life. I enjoy beer, whiskey and vodka, and wine is always a lovely option. I do smoke cigarettes, which I hope isn't a bother to those around me but I don't deprive myself from it just because someone else might not approve. I can enjoy weed but I'm not a regular pot smoker, mostly due to the fact that in my country it's expensive and a hassle, plus I don't live alone. But otherwise I'd be happy to smoke a joint with you, any time.

I love knowledge, learning new things, about anything and everything in this world. I love when someone can teach me something great, and I love when I can teach them, but what I really love is when we get into this symbiotic state where we constantly throw knowledge and energy back and forth. It's a connection I constantly look for in people and something I treasure deeply when I find it. I want to learn new things and meet new people, I want to grow as a human and spiritually as well. I seek art and beauty wherever I go. I wish to travel and learn from different cultures, different lifestyles. I want to be humbled and made wise by this earth and it's people, by this time i have in this vessel I call a body. And I want to love as many people as I can.

I'm just an adventurous old soul with lot's to learn and a bit to teach, but more than anything with allot of love and allot of smiles to share, searching for beautiful places and beautiful people to create things with and to share memories with.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that we are all one with the universe. That everything is composed of cosmic energy, and that the purest energy is love. I partake in meditation, am fascinated with stone and mineral work as well as witchcraft as long as it is harmless. I believe we are all here to enjoy this body, this version of ourselves within the immense infinity that is the universe, to learn and connect with as many souls as we can find that resonate with our own. I currently seek spiritual teachings and guidance within these beliefs and am more than willing to adjust my lifestyle should I feel my soul and spirit call for it.

I believe this world is run by tyrants and that our system, or economy, our health, media, and religion are all corrupt and conspiring to suppress the love and light we all carry inside, but there are those of us who are stronger than that, those of us who wish to grow and spread love and consciousness wherever we may go, to make this earth better.

I am a student of the earth, and a celebrator of souls.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have my fair share of skills in digital image work that I can teach, as well as creative output to collaborate with artists. I'm also very fluent in both english and spanish, so I can help with any of those two languages, wether it be speaking them or writing and reading them.

I'm very willing and interested in learning about carpentry or other such hand labor, and am more than able and glad to help out with these sort of things. Or to help with anything at all.

I seek to connect with people and find myself in them and let them find themselves in me, so that they may feel accompanied in this plane of reality, for we are not alone. I wish to convey in others a sense of community and inspire people to create more, to enjoy more, to observe the little things more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never actually couch surfed out of my country, but I have done it plenty of times in Puerto Rico. I'm completely comfortable sleeping in most places, I have no trouble finding sleep. I'll eat just about anything. I'm more than happy to help with anything wherever I might be staying. I can help with yard work, running errands, painting, cleaning, etc. I'm not very knowledgeable in cooking but I would LOVE to learn.

Interests

I enjoy sightseeing, hiking, exploring, stargazing.

I like photography, any form of it really. From scenic to artistic to nude to nature, all of it. I own a Canon T3i and am always down to go for shoots and even learn a thing or two.

I absolutely love art. I like to draw, sometimes paint, I love tattoos even though I still have none.

I love music. I play drums, hand percussion, and do a bit of bass and singing. I love live music, going to shows of any sort, it's lovely. I also enjoy poetry readings and such, I'm down for any of that.

I love a good read but I hate pdf's. But I'll grab a good book any day.

I like to drink, and I smoke. Beer is great, wine is even better in the right setting. I LOVE coffee! And pizza haha.

I have an interested in the occult, witchcraft and anything of the sort as long as it harms no one.

I like watching movies and staying in, that's nice too.

I really love deep conversation, just going to chill places and connecting people at a higher level other than just that basic human interaction.

I seek knowledge, adventure, wisdom, love, and creativity. And all that I seek, I work hard to give.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm an avid movie watcher. My interests in film range from the stories they tell to how they are made down to the tiniest details. My favorite movies of all time are the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. I enjoy fantasy movies in general, as well as movies based on books, psychological dramas and thrillers, and a multitude of pop culture classics like Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, The Breakfast Club, The Boondock Saints, and a list that would probably never end. I also love musicals, like Grease, Le' Mis, and Across The Universe, which is one of my favorite movies of all time.

My music taste is so varied that I'd need a day to detail it. But basically I enjoy anything from reggae to jazz to electronic music to old school hip hop to any forms of rock or metal or punk to classics like Dean Martin to psychedelic music to progressive metal to acoustic to indie, you get the point. I love almost all of it.

My favorite bands and artists at the moment are Tool (all time favorite, I obsess over them), A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Rage Against The Machine, Shpongle, Snarky Puppy, The Strokes, The Smiths, Twenty One Pilots, Iron Maiden, The Beatles, Gorillaz (I love them allot as well)

The list goes on forever...

I really love reading but i don't do so often due to lack of bookstores nearby. But I love a good book. I love anything by JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling, I like fantasy novels as you can tell. I also enjoy books about life and the mind, perhaps even a love story now and then. I love mythology and books about ancient or hidden knowledge. My favorite book is Ancient Secret Of The Flower Of Life by Drunvalo Melchizedek.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm knowledgeable in many aspects of digital design, such as working the following softwares: Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom.

I'm also skilled in video editing and basic camera work for both photography and videography.

I'd love to teach any of these things and whatever else I may somehow teach you.

I'd love to learn how to cook, how to build things, and how to sculpt, amongst anything else I could get out of an learning experience really.

I want to share art and it's creation with people, and seeing beautiful places. I also want to share spirituality and learn from people and their paths, their ways, meditation, yoga, healthy eating, you name it. Anything that will guide myself and my body through this life in a more love filled and connected way with the universe.
