Overview
About Me
I finished University Studies and am now studying life in different ways, practically learning about nature and plants, permaculture and animals, about community living and people, of course. My interest when visiting a country is to get to know the culture and the people. So even tough I love talking about german/european/south american history and politics, I know that there is so much I can learn from others so I mainly am a good listener.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To not travel in a country and only live in a “gringo”-parallel world (as they would say in Latin America) meaning only staying in Hostels, only meeting people with a very similar upbringing, a very similar social background and similar experiences. That can be relaxing and those people can sometimes really open your eyes on a new subject but I find it if more challenging in general also more rewarding to meet up with locals and get an insight in their view of the world, so different from mine sometimes and to see that yet we are so similar.
Interests
Anything that is related to art and culture. I also enjoy cooking and eating and good conversations. I’m really not the sporty type but I do like long walks in the nature.
Recently, history and politics have been more and more in my field of interest and I'm excited about meeting people that live an alternative lifestyle, yoga, meditation and all kinds of spirituality. I have explored a little into different religions and am currently interested in learning about Islam and the Middle East...
Music, Movies, and Books
I love some japanese Authors but I quite like Bolano, Garcia Marquez, Herman Hesse, Maxie Wanders... so many!
I used to love Mautpassant and Dürrenmatt and I can go on talking hours and hours about german (especialy post-war) literature. I’m still an amateur but I really love it! Anything that focuses on humans as they are and talks about life as it is in a loving manner!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Chiloé-Island in the South of Chile. My family and friends are getting tired of me preaching this little peace of paradise on earth but if we do meet up I’m gonna tell YOU all about it :) I really enjoy talking about that experience because I can’t help but smile whenever I do!
Teach, Learn, Share
Anything, anytime, as much as possible!
