About Me

Hello fellow Couchsurfers! My name is Joseph! You can call me Joe and a cultural enthusiast. I'm originally from Philippines but I've been fortunate enough to have worked here in Brunei as a teacher. I love travelling to many parts of the world and experience new cultures firsthand. My favorite way to travel is to immerse myself in the local culture and connect with people from all walks of life. I'm always up for a good conversation and love hearing people's stories. When I'm not exploring the world, I enjoy hiking, trying new foods, dancing and playing piano but most of the time I love sleeping. As a guest, I'm clean, respectful, and always happy to lend a hand. As a host, I love sharing my knowledge of the local area and introducing visitors to hidden gems of Brunei that you might not find in the guidebooks. Can't wait to connect with you and share some travel stories!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe that travel should be more than just ticking off destinations on a bucket list. For me, it's about immersing myself in new cultures, meeting locals, and making authentic connections with people around the world. Couchsurfing provides a unique opportunity to do just that - by staying with locals or hosting travelers, I can get a true sense of what it's like to live in a new place and learn about the customs, traditions, and way of life that make each culture unique. I also love the community aspect of Couchsurfing - it's a platform that brings together like-minded travelers who share a passion for adventure, learning, and cultural exchange. Whether I'm traveling or hosting, I always look forward to meeting new people and building lasting friendships
