About Me

The following is a brief summary of the past 11 years of my life. It is a timeline of sorts that details where I’ve been, what I’ve been doing. Ultimately, it shows just how one ordinary person has so far managed to fund a lot of days straight of traveling and living abroad.

THE TIMELINE.

December 2007: I finished university. I majored in Hospitality and Bartending.

April 2009: I applied for a job aboard in a cruise ship recruitment agency (although applying directly with a cruise line is one way to land a job at sea, using cruise ship recruitment agencies is also recommended). Thus, I started working as bar waiter in my first cruise ship company, Norwegian Pearl.

June 2011: Costa cruise line was my next goal. My contract was for 8 months aboard.

August 2012: I decided to stop for a while with the ships and I was off to New Zealand to begin a new life. Actually, I made a choice to officially extend my trip because I didn't mean to come back to the bohemian life aboard or stay in Lima, but never say never.

November 2013: Having said that previously, I returned to the cruise ships. However, for this opportunity, PrincessCruise Line was my new home till May 2014.

August 2014; I got to run my own travel agency called "Dream Destination Peru" with 2 more partners, within business circle I was made General Manager.

April 2015: I went back to the ships once again, always with the same position (bar waiter). My forth cruise line: the italian MSC. In the meantime, my other 2 partners were the head of the agency until I was back to Lima.

August 2015: The adventures on sea led me to land in the capital once again. I resigned my contract. Sometimes, it's time to take risks and evaluate what's next for your life within a few years? cruise ships or my travel agency?

December 2015: I set up another business related to lodging establishment to which my apartment belongs to. Opened up at December 15th, "Wasi Airport Aparment" offers the best service in accommodation near the airport for visiting tourists, backpackers, foreigner families, etc., etc.

2016 - 2017: It's likely to grab my luggage and experience my fifth cruise company either Oceania Cruise Line or Thomson One. This time the intend is to save money for the mastery in Hospitality in Germany.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I would like to share my marvellous culture with others. I love experiencing new cultures, foods and people. I have been to 38 countries thus far and lived in 2 for at least three months. Basically, thanks to the former cruise ships where I worked as bar waiter :D because "Travel makes you awesome"regardless. People and friend of mine always ask how travel has changed me. If I look back at who I was before I began traveling and compare that to who I am now, I would have to say that travel has made me a better and more well-rounded person.

So yet, I hosted these nationalities:
Germany: 42; USA: 28; France: 29; Russia: 16; Argentina: 11; Italy: 9; Spain: 8; Austria: 7; Canada: 7; Chile: 7; Netherlands: 7; Australia: 6; Belgium: 6; Brazil: 7; Colombia: 5; Poland: 5; Mexico: 5; Sweden: 7; China: 4; Denmark: 4; Switzerland: 4; Lithuania: 3; New Zealand: 3; Norway: 3; Romania: 3; Czech Republic: 4; Latvia: 2; Portugal: 2; Ukraine: 5; Ecuador: 1; England: 2; Eslovenia: 1; Philippines: 1; Finland: 1; Haiti: 1; Hungary: 1; India: 1; Israel: 1; Japan: 2; Puerto Rico: 1; Singapore: 1; Slovakia: 1; Serbia: 1; Turkey: 1;
