My name is Joseph. I go by any variation of the name. Many of my friends have started to call me JoJo which I do like and feel that it suits my personality well. I have had quite an interesting life with a vast amount of experiences and some amazing people. I was in the Air Force for 6 years stationed overseas in England and Germany. I have been out for over 8 years now and haven't been able to settle in one place for very long. I have spent the majority of my time after the military between Boise, Idaho, Boulder, CO, and Sedona Arizona. Through all of my travels and experiences, I have found that what fuels my life best is a community of genuine and authentic people. I have explored many religions, ideologies, and philosophies to understand the Truth of my existence and what I always come back to is that what matters most is being present with people that I have mutual care and respect for. Most recently, I am coming from Sedona, Arizona. I started to feel the need to get out of there to find a deeper meaning of life. I have been told that Hawaii is the place to do just that. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My original plan for Hawaii was to camp out, but it's not as feasible as I originally thought at least that is the case for Kauai. I am looking for a few places to stay when I first make the transition over there. Once I get to Kauai, I am looking to find a farm to do work trade with. If you know of any farms that I can reach out to, I am always open to recommendations.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have had an interesting relationship with music. For a few years, I spent a lot of time in silence, and even to this day, I can drive for quite some time in the quiet before I put any music on. The music I listen to has to have substance in the lyrics. I am open to all different genres, but if it's meaningless, my chances of liking it are pretty low.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an avid skydiver for about 3 years while I lived in Germany. I have jumped from an airplane over 400 times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play guitar and sing and am always up for sharing knowledge if someone is wanting to learn. Also, I am open to learning from other musicians to continue to develop myself as a songwriter. I would love to share music, laughter, and deep conversation.

I have come to realize that the way I serve others is by cleaning and organizing. When I am staying with people, I am diligent about leaving a space better than how I found it. I will share my positive energy and my helping hand in whatever way possible.
