About Me

What’s up! Im Joey, and I’m Lebanese/Italian from the United States 🇱🇧🇮🇹🇺🇸 I’m a student at the University of Arizona studying Middle Eastern Studies, Arabic, and Environmental Science, but I’m on a gap year right now 😎

I love hitchhiking, urban exploration, meeting random people. Anything that feels adventurous. The last Couchsurfing host I stayed with thought this was funny but I say that I love “alternative souvineers”, like books or small things from flea markets (for example, I bought an old Soviet passport cover at an outdoor market in Armenia).
I’m getting into meditation, spirituality, and yoga so definitely hit me up if you’re into that stuff. I’m very into social issues, global politics. I loveee deep conversations, I’m down to talk about anything. I love the environment, biking, swimming, all outdoorsy activities really. I love being outdoors. Trying new foods, visiting new places, I love photography 📷I love reading.. Really, so many things! This list could be 1000 words 😂 I’m more interested in what you like to do! I love to learn and try new activities :)

I’m just finished a 4month trip traveling only over land from Rome🇮🇹-Almaty🇰🇿 and made tons of friends along the way. I’m a super social person and while I love hostels, couch surfing gave me the chance to connect with people 1on1. Always sick experiences. Nothing better than meeting locals, learning about their cultures and sharing your own. I’ll skip all the basic CS-talk though lol

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting locals while traveling is the best. No better way to connect with an area. The reasons go on and on, meeting new friends, connecting with people, sharing experiences.
