Overview
About Me
Hey, my name's Joe! I'm a 27 year old American, born and raised in the suburbs currently living in South Philly.
I like to think that I'm a fun, empathetic, laidback person, with a sense of humor.
I lived in Spain for 3 years and enjoy flexing my Spanish whenever possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why am I on couchsurfing?
Well, I've done the standard hostel trip more than once. I've had great times staying in party hostels, going on pub crawls, and meeting fellow travelers, some of whom have become friends to this day; however, really getting to know the people that are from or live in the actual destination can be a real challenge.
The whole 'post-travel/adventure lifestyle' funk is real. The ups, downs, and circumstantial happenings in life can sometimes force us to put wanderlust fantasy action plans on hold.
Interests
I think I have a wide variety of interests. You can find me procrastinating by reading the most random wikipedia articles at 3 in the morning. I may also be trying to teach myself a new skill such as car repair by means of youtube videos. I like to learn, work and be productive.. I also like to day drink and watch bad movies.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music, I play the guitar(badly), but have an appreciation for all kinds. Some favorites include: sublime, pink floyd, jimi hendrix, kendrick lamar, notorious big, red hot chili peppers, stromae, los delinquentes, juanito makande
Movies, again, lots of variety: the godfather, superbad, saving private ryan, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, trainspotting
I like to read books but I don't do it nearly as much as want (fifa 17's fault): the sun also rises, for whom the bell tolls, man's search for meaning, siddhartha, jurrasic park(shout out first book I read in spanish)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I taught English in Spain for 3 years which was an amazing time in my life because it provided me with lots of stories and adventures I could put as an answer. It may be lame but one memory that stands out is camping in the sahara desert and just looking up in awe at the stars.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook pretty well, mostly italian food, and am a good wingman. I love to share my favorite recommendations of restaurants and things to do in places I've visited around the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with my host, good conversation, genuine interest, an open attitude, a lot of laughs, and hopefully a friendship that will lead us to meet again!
