About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do and see as many things as possible

ABOUT ME

I am an outdoorsy kind of guy who loves anything to do with nature. I am realizing more every day that I have a borderline obsession with plants. I graduated from the Evergreen State College with a focus in Polymer Chemistry and Plant Ecology. Since then I have worked at Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Forest, Saguaro National Park, and Denali National Park and Preserve. Currently I live in Rapid City, SD working for the Park Service.

PHILOSOPHY

We have very little time on this planet - live it up while you can!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want the ability to crash on people's couches while traveling, and in return I am offering mine whenever possible. Currently I am a nomad, so I have to couch to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed relatively local, within the state (WA), and have had two wonderful experiences.

I surfed with three different amazing fellows in San Diego and was blown away by the generosity of fellow man.

I finally had my own place in Rapid City and was able to host quite a few amazing individuals passing through the plains.

Interests

Travel, hiking, plant identification, learning about area's natural history, attending concerts, listening to music, reading books, thrift store shopping.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - pretty much anything
Music - something with a good beat
Books - Sci-fi or educational

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tree climbing in Quinault. We're talking 100 meter tall colossal conifers!

Teach, Learn, Share

Love spreading knowledge of the area. I am also pretty well versed in a variety of scientific topics - chemistry, molecular biology, ecology, to name a few.

Let's go find some big trees!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great stories about my time working for the National Park Service! Also, I've been told I am not a bad cook...
