About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See everything, live everything.

ABOUT ME

Humourous, Jocular, Observing, Gentle, Well-read, Cultured, Creative, Musical, Competetive, Curious, Intelligent, Kind, Flamboyant at times, Pensive, Level Headed, Day Dreamer, Maker, Unknown.

Writing about myself from such a blunt query bothers me.

I've never asked my best friends about me, asking what kind of things they would say if someone asked about me.

Interests

Earth that is very green, and very blue. The stars across the night sky, like black cellophane pulled tight over a freshly baked day, sprinkled with confectioners sugar. I enjoy getting lost in natural splendor. Walking through a lively forest, searching for the horizon behind golden plains, the spectral wonder in fields of flowers, the sinking blue of massive waters. Music sends me on a trip. Music is essential. "Art" is needed. To create, to have a purpose, to stand back and admire a piece of myself. Destroying my sense of time with a good book. Cultural exploration is self exploration. To travel and speak to a foreign home. People watching. The culinary delights of the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a trip to Mexico with my father when I was around seven years old. We were headed towards a very small town in the center of a valley surrounded by mountains. To get to this town you needed to hire a local driver from a near-by town. The trip took 10 hours driving on a one way, two track dirt road complete with perilous hairpin turns, switchbacks and the occasional hairy encounter of passing a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. We were finally only 4 kilometers from the base of the valley where the town lay nestled when we were approached by 5 Mexican nationals. They forced the driver to stop and commandeered our dusty chevy suburban for the rest of the ride. I sat in the back seat center, my father to my right and along to my left a muscled man in uniform brandishing an AK-47, his coat garnished with a long belt of bullets. The remainder of the ride we sat in silence, waiting anxiously to be free of the hot and sticky SUV.
