ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Joseph Aceves. I am a recent graduate of California State University of Long Beach where I studied production of film and television. To live and travel about is something I have wanted to do my entire life. Now that I finished college I have a small amount of time where it would be possible for me to do so.
I have a passion to travel. I love to experience cultures and gather stories to share. I often think about the different types of people I might meet on my trip. During my studies I was fortunate enough to meet a few international students. They were great and only enhanced my already fostering passion to travel.

I'm active and enjoy any group exercise. I love art and would be enthralled with any artistic activities. I look forward to mingling with whichever community I end up living near. I love to talk to people and share stories. It's always interesting to listen to what a person has to say.

If I’m fortunate enough to have you as a host person/family I assure you I will be respectful and open minded to the entire experience. Thank you for taking the time to read about me!

A) Being good is a reward within itself.

I'm new. If couch surfing is as good as an experience as I've heard I'll most likely open up my place near LA for CS.

Music, Movies, and Books

My mind is racing. No matter what I put in here I have this gut feeling I'll force myself back on to edit and re-edit my list. I love comedies, dramas, and music that speaks to me. I know that's generic, but there's so many good films, and timeless music, and inspiring books that I can't bring myself to settle on anything. I'm always up for film, music, and book suggestions. I love them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been fortunate enough to travel to Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Switzerland, England, Spain, and Italy in the last month and a half. I did a job for a music video this summer, a job for an indie feature two summer ago, and a job for a production company one summer ago. Film school was, to me, amazing. I've been to an outdoor wedding in Switzerland during a thunderstorm. It was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Film school taught me a bunch of cool, hopefully not useless, factoids on film. I'm Mexican/Chinese. Literally half Mexican and Chinese. I was born and raised in California, but ethnically considered Chexican (made-up word.)
