ABOUT ME

After a decade as a Christian Coalition activist and Republican nominee for the U.S. Congress in one of the most conservative districts in our country, I learned firsthand the most destructive force in our country today is Americans taking sides against other Americans. The turning point in my life came in 2001 when my political career, marriage, business and reputation collapsed, my relationships having been eroded by mistrust and hatred of my enemies. The pain of this personal loss was transformative and I began slowly rebuilding my life on more solid ground, searching for a way to engage in politics in a healthier way. Since 2004 I have organized a series of private retreats that brought over 140 national leaders representing over 70 million Americans into dialogue in search of common ground. My passion now is to apply the tools developed in these gatherings to catalyzing a national campaign of transpartisan house party, café, library and town hall meeting dialogues that serve as a resource for local, state and national decision makers searching for innovative, bottom-up solutions in this time of crisis.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am intending to be on the road for at least the next year as the Transpartisan Alliance team launches the "Campaign to Unite U S"...I've been couch surfing with friends in Ashland and SF Bay Area and Portland, OR...I imagine it will become a way of life!
