About Me

Hi I'm Jo :)

I've recently made the big decision to leave full-time work in London to spend time travelling.
I love yoga, meditation, veggie food, hiking, crafts, art and being in nature.

Some of the best experiences in my life have come from times when I have stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new, so here goes!

I'm particularly interested in making meaningful contributions to the places I visit (without being a voluntourist) so if you can help with that endeavour or have had your own experiences with this, that would be fantastic to hear about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's really the people that make the place and a trip unforgettable. I'm looking to learn something new from the hosts I meet, I'd love to spend time with them and discover new things together.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: I have a wide taste in music, from Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Alt J to Bon Iver. Always happy to listen to something new and invent some awesome (or awful) dance moves.

FILMS: I love film as a story-telling medium and recently worked for a film-making charity. Some of my top films include: No Country for Old Men, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and Pursuit of Happiness.

BOOKS: I've always liked fantasy: loved the Game of Thrones series, Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events and His Dark Materials. And I'm really enjoying non-fiction at the moment: Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, Sound by Bella Bathurst and This is going to hurt by Adam Kay.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I skydived in Croatia, which was utter madness considering I have motion sickness, but an incredible experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach me your language, show me your culture and I'll do the same. There is so much we can learn from one another. Meeting others from different backgrounds and corners of the globe helps to open our minds to the beautiful diversities and similarities between us and to understand each other more complexly. New experiences with new people, its how we grow. I'd love to discuss what you think of the world and see if we can't learn something from each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a respectful guest with an open mind and a genuine interest in what you have to share. Happy to help out with your English if you're learning too.
