About Me
Hello everyone!
On a daily basis I study Danish & Rhetorics at University of Copenhagen to become a teacher. I love a combination of nature and city life. I try to "exploit" all Copenhagen has to offer in regarding to concerts, bars, theater and all the other crazy happenings in this great town. On weekends I sometime escape to the countryside - in Sweden or to visit my parents.
I love to meet new people which is why I engage in volunteering - I've been doing radio at a station, planning events and a summer school at both University and my former school and now I write news for Roskilde Festival.
I definitely have a political interest too - it is highly centered about humanity, culture and education.
I also love to travel. I've been on several trips around Europe and on one great journey to Centralamerika and the States.
I'm really interested in foreign cultures - in some holistic way I like to investigate how we're all linked and how other cultures reflect on the Danish and vice versa.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a host I would like to show people around in Copenhagen. I live in a dorm which makes it a bit too crowded to have people staying at my place, since I only have one bed and no couch ;)
However I have shown people the city thousands of times so you just ask for tips.
My friend, Rikke, and I are traveling for three months to Latinamerika and New York and currently we are planning to stay at hostels. However - it would be cool to check out how people live or to meet up for a beer or some coffee. Lonely Planet only gets you so far ;)
Interests
As mentioned before I really like music. That's all part of why I volunteer for a music festival (Roskilde Festival) and it's definitely something I always want to do whenever I'm traveling to a city.
I also enjoy walking - strolling in the city or trekking - and all sorts of water sports - kayak, swimming etc.
As a true dane I of course love to drink as well - I'm not all zen ;) - all though I do like yoga too.

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly like indie rock and Americana (Tame Impala, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Darkside, Father John Misty - just to mention a few) but I also enjoy soul and jazz as well as World Music.
My favorite movies would be on one hand everything with Lars Von Trier and on the other hand sweet Sundance winners like Little Miss Sunshine or The Way Way Back. I just watched Nocturnal Animals by Tom Ford which was AWESOME.
I like to watch all sorts of series too - Westworld, Parks and Recreation and Danish Nordic Noir like The Bridge.
I read a lot (the whole teacher-thing) - classics like Flaubert and Hemmingway but also newer Danish authors like Stine Pilgaard.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There is this thing called jantelov in Denmark which forbid you to brag. Instead a highlight of my life have definitely been going to my "højskole" (folk highschool). This is a very Danish thing to do: going away on a sort of boarding school where you learn about democracy and have different classes as well as having fun and getting friends for life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a subtle political interest and my studies in rhetoric have definitely meant that I now know a thing or two about Danish democracy and medias.
I would be happy to discuss this :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well I'm definitely a talker - a social person who would gladly tell tales of the danes. This spring I'm traveling with my friend Rikke and we can offer good company and some dry danish jokes ;)
