About Me

Hello, my name is Josephine Stedman, and I am a lover of life and people. When given the choice between having a material object or creating a unique experience, I choose the unique experience every time. I have a passion for traveling and meeting new people, because I believe that through sharing stories and spaces with others, we grow more into ourselves; for both the contrasts and the similarities that we find in one another help illuminate us to ourselves.
For years I've worked as a manager in both my family owned business, as well as in my best friend's medical practice where we focused on healing people through natural medicine paired with modern medicine. And now, after turning 40, I've decided that this decade is just for me. So, I informed my loved ones that I was leaving the country (possibly forever). I sold all of my earthly possessions, including my house and car, and decided to travel the world for the next two years before setting up a home base in a country outside of America that better suits my personality and desire for a conscious minded community.
I am excited and curious about what the future holds. I am eager to manifest my desires and live a happy, joy filled authentic life with the platonic soulmates I have yet to meet...like, possibly, you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I've been traveling for the past 5 months, many of the travellers I have encountered have been raving about Couchsurfing and how wonderful it is. I heard about it many years ago, but just forgot it existed until recently, lol. But when fellow travellers would tell me about their Couchsurfing experiences, I would feel giddy inside. The kind of people who would open up their homes and hearts to people they haven't met yet is exactly the type of people who I consider to be apart of my tribe.
I truly believe that making the world a smaller place by connecting with and helping one another more is the key to fixing many of the issues that exist in the world. The more we spend time with others from different cultures and ethnicities, the less we see people as "others" and begin seeing them as friends. And when that occurs, absolutely anything is possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I do isn't really a thing but a trait. I have the ability to see and imagine how to grow a dream from whatever state it is in. I am also gifted with the ability to make those around me feel safe and calm. So because of these traits, I've done many amazing things in my life from traveling solo since I was a teenager, graduating summa cum laude from my university, building businesses from scratch, and finding the silver lining in any dark cloud.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I was a massage therapist for many years, so I can teach the art of healing touch; How to start, promote, and grow a business; ad design; natural medicine; meditation.

Learn: I love learning new things, so I am open to learning anything that does not harm anyone else. I believe knowledge can only make us better.

Share: sharing is something that occurs based on the vibration that two or more people create; so the sharing possibilities are endless. It's simply a matter of interest. Sharing is one of my favorite things to do.
