About Me

I love to travel and I love couch surfing because it allows me to get a sense of what life is like somewhere else and for someone else. To me that is still the most fascinating thing in the world.

I'm living in Berlin, working a full time job. I like to socialize, play football and swing dance but I don't 'party'.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of not just going through places but actually meeting people and slowing down the travel and making places more personable, rather than checking sights and places of the bucket list.

As a host I love to give something back to the travel community that I have been part of for so many years and which mostly has been so generous, kind and supportive in so many different ways and places.
I also like the idea that its somehow subversive to the tourism industry.

PS: I DON'T do drunken crazy parties - just not into it. Wouldn't instegate one in your house, not having them in mine.

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of Music I really love the Swing and early Jazz era and also like Soul, R'n'B and Tango and german Schlager at gay clubs.

Books: I recently really enjoyed Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Cheyl Strayed, Junot Diaz and I really enjoy the poetry of Rilke, Ghibran, Mascha Kaleko and Wolfgang Borchert

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I extracted myself from the claws of an overly playful Jaguar in Bolivia.

Teach, Learn, Share

Tango and Swing Dancing, Basic knitting,
Cooking (mainly European, but I can also make a decent Curry, Hummus and Tagine) ,

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook and I'm happy to clean (the latter within reason) and am generally in good spirits.
I can adjust to being very quite and out of your way or communal and sociable.
I stayed in tons of different homes and usually easily adjust to new environments.
