A small kindness here, a sharing of food and drink there, and you have the alchemy of strangers into allies. Couchsurfing seems to be built on a desire for this kind of a connection. I've been fortunate enough to have experienced the kindness of strangers on my travels and not only like to take but give, so if you ever find yourself in my corner of the world...don't be a stranger.
