About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to retain my personal sensibilities
ABOUT ME
I am an active individual who pleases to be outside more than in. To be open, accepting, adventurous, but a rational person is what I please to be and hope to find in others. I am continously in contemplation as to who, or what, I am and so any contributions to my personal development will be greatly appreciated from anyone who can give their time.
PHILOSOPHY
Fortes fortuna adiuvat - Fortune favours the brave
Never stagnate - ensure that you keep realising the beauty of existence during your waking hours.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When finishing Uni in 2008 I had nowhere to live, I relied on friends and family to put me up and help me to put my possessions in storage before I set off travelling. Whilst out in Europe and Asia, the good people of CS kept me company and gave me a places to stay. During my first trip to Asia, I had my own digs and was able to accept surfers on a regular basis. I enjoyed the company of each and every person that stepped through my door.
In Shanghai I am renting a room from a local girl, but she's not secure with the idea of accepting 'strangers' into the house. (I'm working on her!) So, though I can't offer anywhere to stay, I can go for a drink or meet up to explore some different parts of the city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Myself and my co-driver, Faye, during our south-eastern European road trip, had great CS experiences in Bratislava, Nis and Ljubljana. Our hosts Joe, Dejan and Dan made us feel incredibly welcome in their cities and showed us around the towns with such style! A selection of some amazing experiences as an introduction into the world of CS.
Over my time in China I attended as many meetings of HK, SZ and GZ that I could and also hosted as many people as my time allowed. Although in Shanghai, I've been a bit slack ...
Through travelling/hosting/CS meetings I was able to make friends with a multitude of travellers, locallers & ex-pattlers alike, all were awesome to meet wherever I found them!
CS has been lifeline to me. It has allowed me meet some incredible people from so many walks of life and also assured me that, in the grand scheme of things, everything's ok.
