About Me

I'm a 27 year old woman living in Atlanta with 3 roommates and my adorable ginger kitty. I work in Tech Support for an awesome company (I'm pretty awesome at troubleshooting computer stuff if that gets me any brownie points) and really enjoy living in the city. I drink and smoke socially and have become more of an extrovert as I've gotten older, but I still enjoy the simple, quiet pleasures of winding down the day with a glass of wine and my cat and the company of good friends.

I prefer to bike as many places as I can and I try to stay relatively active. I love to cook so I would not mind partaking in making a meal together! I'm trying to learn as many languages as I can before I die and I've gotten relatively good at learning them so far. I will try speaking the host language for as long as I can before I embarrass myself and others, if that helps. I do not want to be the horrible American who doesn't speak anything besides English, so that's a big thing for me.

I consider myself to be pretty responsible and am a big planner, but I definitely don't mind spontaneity here and there. I'm an INTJ if that explains anything. I tend to clean up after myself, especially with cooking - I clean as I go and don't like leaving dishes for other people to clean. I really like to experience new cultures and see how another person's day to day life is different than my own, which is why I am so interested in Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My best friend and I are traveling to several countries in Europe for three weeks and want to see Europe through the eyes of people who love their home. Ideally, I'd enjoy the local experience for the entire time, but my best friend is a history buff and wants to see museums, architecture, etc as well, so we'd love to hear recommendations of places to visit, food to eat, and I personally will need to know where to get coffee so that's a pretty high priority.

Music, Movies, and Books

I could never explain all of my interests in a small little space, but let's talk and nerd out together about our similar interests! For the sake of context, Harry Potter, Buffy, Xena, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, most things SciFi, and an extensive amount of literature were huge in defining my childhood. Books were my friends before humans were, which is great because children are essentially little sociopaths because their frontal lobes aren't fully developed yet. My music taste is actually all over the place but I truly hate any form of modern or semi-modern Country music and I'm not big into Metal except for the slower creepy Metal genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really wanted to work for the company that I currently worked for, so after I applied, I stalked the shit out of as many employees I could find until one of them responded to my cover letter. I got a phone interview from there and then an in person interview and I was very surprised but pleased when they hired me! It's not exactly amazing and it's actually a bit creepy but I'm really happy with the company and it illustrates how tenacious I can be ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help troubleshoot computers and cook you a nice meal but I will say my talents are fairly limited for now.
